If you visit China, you may want to bring your own chopsticks...
BEIJING (Reuters) - A Beijing factory recycled used chopsticks and sold up to 100,000 pairs a day without any form of disinfection, a newspaper said on Wednesday, the latest in a string of Chinese food and product safety scares.
Officials raided the factory and seized about half a million pairs of recycled disposable bamboo chopsticks and a packaging machine, the Beijing News said.
The owner, identified only by his surname Wu, said he had sold the recycled chopsticks for 0.04 yuan a pair and made an average of about 1,000 yuan ($130) a day. Wu, who had no license to sell the goods, said he had sold 100,000 pairs a day when business was good.
that WAS funny! was that for real, jess? it looked like it. do people really pay that much for polkyman cards? or were they pitying her and all her kids?
hey, i got a new job!!! i'll be starting in a new position at the hospital on Sept 04... with NO ON CALL-NESS and decent hours (8 hrs a day, Mon-Fri!) and off on ALL HOLIDAYS plus 6 weeks paid vacation!!! and a RAISE!
WOW! anyone else want to be an RN? benefits are good! and we need more nurses as the shortage grows!
hey, i'm feeling better and trusting God to heal - HE IS THE HEALER! each time i feel afraid that my symptoms might take over again, i just choose to focus on Him and to be thankful for WHO HE IS... i'm still taking my meds right now.... but, choosing to believe that HE is the healer
