You know, I'm a reasonable person. And I can run on 2 or 3 hours sleep for a couple days... but the crash is coming. I had a pretty minor crash last night. Just tired. And frustrated. So my mom came this morning for 2 hours, and I slept. And then Toby took a nap, and I slept. And then Toby woke up and screamed for CPS and I slept. Well, really he would just give a big shout-out " Yo mom! I'm awake now!" "Yo mom! Come get me or somebody's getting FIRED!" "Yo CPS! I got a wet diaper and a sleeping mom!" and so on. And then he would sing for a while, and talk to himself, and then start threatening lawsuits. All said and done, I got 3 or 4 hours last night and the same today. So I'm feeling a little better.
And then, when I got up, my American Idol tape was magically on the porch! Good times.

Tonight I might go on a date by myself. Maybe to the Marriot and catch some zzzzzs. Or Target. (minus the zs)

  1. I am glad to hear you got some sleep. I am dealing with a little sleep deprivation myself. No where close to the level you have with 3 small children. But I have had to be really careful with my words. I don't think I have slept more than just a few hrs a night since last thrusday. So I know I am cranky, and could easily remove someone's head with my words. I am just to old not to get any sleep. It seems like when you are young and you have small children there is grace for that. Now that I am older, kids are older there is no grace!

  2. I know I am not old by most peoples standards (unless you ask a teenager) but I feel old right now!

  3. G'morning, Jess! I'm glad you got a little relief.

AI was pretty cool last night. Definitely a surprise ending!

...something that just occured to me: "the world" has no problem mocking churches for asking for money to do exactly what they're doing now. Plus, they act like this "helping the poor" is their original idea, when churches, Christian organizations (like Operation Blessing), and missionaries have been doing this forever. Hmmm...who thinks the blinders are on? I'm really glad to see that they're doing this, but it makes me sad to know that they don't see anything else.

    Okay...on a happy note...Yo! 'sup homeslice(s)?

  7. Sleep is good for you. Crashes happen. Good thing Toby didn't have a phone to reach, he could've called up CPS.

    Keith had his 1 year check-up today. He's 31 inches (85%) and 21 lbs, 14 oz. (40%).

He also took his first "official" steps last night- 6 in a row.

  8. WHAT ARE THOSE PERCENTAGES FOR?

    ReplyDelete
  9. is he 31 inches or 85 % of 31 inches??? =)

  10. 50% stands for the average given measurement for the age.

So, he's above average height and a little below average weight. The weight isn't a concern given that Shannon and I are both tall and thin. The doctor just says, "he's long and lean." He actually was 25% at his 9 month and they weren't concerned at all.

  12. You ladies be extra careful going out to run errands after dark.

One of my co-workers mom was beaten up last night as she walked to her car in a Wal-Mart parking lot. (The one on Louetta.) Thankfully, a Wal-Mart employee saw what was happening & ran to help her. The mugger fled in a blue car & there were 2 females with him in the car.

Evidently there have been other crimes like this one at other area Wal-Marts & all after dark.

I don't know if they took her purse or what - but she is still in the hospital & she should recover.

    So, be careful ladies!

  13. That's a very funny blog Jess. My boys never threaten to call CPS when left unattended for any amount of time. They just ask eachother "where is mommy's make-up again"? And how much of it can I spread on the walls and rub into the carpet???

    See ya Saturday!

    Last?
