So, rinsing the pintos. I've heard that soaking beans, then discarding THAT water & using new water to boil them in ensures less *gas*!! Is that how it works? You all heard of that?
Does it still work if the beans are from a can already cooked? Discarding the water in the can, rinsing them, adding new water? I've wondered if it also works, or already ruined since they were originally cooked in the bad soaking water??

I do use new water for soaking than cooking. I also add baking soda to the cooking water... that is supposed to cause less gas. Seems to work for us.
